Art Club for Adults: Watercolours - Next Steps

Watercolours - Next Steps: a 6 week watercolours course for those with a little watercolour experience or who have attended Introduction to Watercolours. With Debbie on Sundays, 1.30 to 4pm, from, 17th March to 28th April (no session on Easter Sunday - 31st March).

Level: Beginners/Improvers. Some drawing experience needed. This 6-week course is designed for those with a little watercolour painting experience, those who have completed my Introduction to Watercolour course/one-day workshop or

simply anyone who needs a refresher. 

Through step-by-step demonstrations, practical activities and individual tutoring, you will develop your skills, creativity and confidence in this wonderful medium. Watercolour paint has a unique, beautiful and translucent effect and is both fun and unpredictable to use!

The course will include developing technique, texture and layering taking inspiration from a range of subject matter, for example still life. You will learn pen and wash technique, look at watercolour artists’ work, and enjoy lively discussions along the way. Emphasis will be more on the development of technique than the production of a “finished” painting. However, any completed paintings are a bonus! Your newfound knowledge will help to further develop your skills and personal expression long after the course has finished.

This is a relaxed and friendly course held in an encouraging and supportive environment. A hot drink and all materials are included in the cost. If you have your own materials that you would like to use, you are also welcome to bring these with you. Come along to this unique, creative venue where you will learn new skills, meet new people and most importantly, enjoy having some creative play and fun!
