The Scrap Space

We are currently working on finding premises to open The Scrap Space: a venue to bring joy to our community while looking after our planet!
The Scrap Space will have both a scrapstore selling on donated waste at low cost for creative reuse and space for creative community activities including favourites provided by ourselves such as Craft Therapy, sewing workshops, kids' activities and sessions run by outside providers hiring the space.
The Scrap Space will be a community haven for all ages getting together and getting creative and will be an Aladdin's cave of inspiration for making use of what is already around us and reducing what we throw away.
The Scrap Space now has its own Facebook and Instagram pages.
While we are working on finding premises for The Scrap Space to open to the public for sales and activity sessions, we are getting a scrap stash together and raising fungd towards premises costs.
You can donate to our crowdfunder at www.avivacommunityfund.co.uk/thescrapspace and also choose a crafty reward from us to say thanks!
We would also love your donations of clean, non hazardous scrap that can be reused for art, craft, play and DIY. Below are examples of the kind of scrap we can currently accept. We currently have limited storage space but when we open we will be able to accept larger items, a bigger range of scrap, larger amounts of scrap and commercial as well as personal scrap.
We can collect scrap from you within a 5 mile radius of Shoreham-by-Sea or you can drop it off in central Shoreham-by-Sea. Email thescrapspace@gmail.com or weareoverthemoon@gmail.com with any questions and to arrange scrap collection or drop off, with a description and ideally photos of your scrap.
All scrap will either be sold as it is at low price from The Scrap Space, processed into kits or packs before selling (including from our online shop), or used in Scrap Space activity sessions. Free scrap will also be distributed according to local need through organisations such as Adur Community Gateway.
