About the event

This session is Split Pin Characters

Holiday Art Club is a series of 3 hour summer holiday creative sessions, designed and delivered for us by Claire Lemmon for Over The Moon, aimed at 8 – 108 year olds!

This Summer, we’re challenging you to bring both your right and left side of your brain to our Holiday Art Club. Come and learn new techniques, work with new materials, use your imagination and take home your incredible efforts, all tried and tested, by you, at Holiday Art Club.

WORK with beads, plaster bandage, cardboard and paper, yarn and cord, paint, pastel and pencil; LEARN origami, building animal heads, weaving, observational skills, colour theory, radial symmetry, how to create at least two different map folds; CREATE jewellery, working automata, giant characters, a marble run, dioramas, an articulated grabbing arm, an exploding book….and more!

Suggested age: 8+. The suggested age range has in mind the sorts of fine motor skills that might be required for the activity, the developmental level the children will need to engage fully with the activities and also their ability to sit around, fairly happily, engaging with a craft for three hours!

The maximum group size is 12 for all sessions. Drop off and pick up at the end.

Weather permitting, the morning and afternoon sessions will take place in different spots: The Activity Space inside and The Garden Space outside (with a gazebo to provide shade and light rain cover). If you book both the morning and afternoon session for your child, they'll need a packed lunch (to eat between 12.30 and 1pm). This session is OUTSIDE.
